October 2016

Welcome to our October issue of E.A.W. eNewsletter for the Electrical & Electronics, Automotive and Wireless/Smartworld industry.

In September, German carmakers launched an alliance with mobile telecoms network equipment firms to accelerate development of the infrastructure needed for self-driving cars. The new alliance, branded the 5G Automotive Association, will “develop, test and promote communications solutions, support standardisation and accelerate commercial availability and global market penetration,” the founders said in a statement. Bureau Veritas currently works together with several connected vehicle organizations such as the USDOTOmniAirCVTA, Car-2-Car Communication Consortium or CCC for MirrorLink and welcomes the foundation of the 5GAA, which especially leverages next generation mobile network technologies.

Additionally, we are delighted to announce the publication of “Cyber security of connected vehicles - Best Practices”. Download this complimentary technical guide which presents a set of security objectives addressed to manufacturers and suppliers, and highlights best practices to manage cyber security in automotive systems.

Finally, check out and meet us in the upcoming November seminar and trade shows:
x x Seminar on "B4G / 5G Mobile Communication Technology and Testing", co-organized by Bureau Veritas, IRTI and Nokia, Taiwan, 1 November;
Electronica 2016, Germany, 8 - 11 November;
